Calls for west of Ireland passport office to be located in Tubbercurry

A South Sligo councillor wants to see a new passport office for the west of Ireland -- and he wants it in Tubbercurry.

Fianna Fail Councillor Jerry Lundy raised the motion at a meeting of the Tubbercurry/Ballymote municipal district yesterday.

Councillor Lundy says up to a million people could benefit from the opening of an office here.

There are currently three passport offices in Ireland, two in Dublin and one in Cork.
