Campaign to have 'Make Way Day' a national day

Yesterday was the third annual 'Make Way Day', highlighting issues people with disabilities face in their local communities.

The campaign is organised by the Disability Federation of Ireland and is supported by 18 County Councils, the Irish Wheelchair Association and Enable Ireland.

Campaigners are aiming to make the day a national awareness day.

The main focus for this year is to showcase the number of physical obstacles that people with disabilities face on a day to day basis.
