Low temperature and ice has resulted in dangerous driving conditions across the North West this morning.
Local authorities have reminded the public that even though gritting has been in operation along many routes, to assume that no road is ice free.

Driving conditions will be hazardous, even where roads are gritted, slow down, drive with caution, be aware of other road users and allow extra time for your journey.
And to take extra care while walking as footpaths can be extremely hazardous/slippery due to ice.
