Donegal Fianna Fáil TD Charlie McConalogue has not received a cabinet position in the new Dáil.
He served as Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine since September 2020 and had been expected to pick up a cabinet position this time round. Taoiseach Michael Martin announced his new Cabinet last evening.
Dara Calleary has been appointed Minister for Social Protection and will be the only member of cabinet between the eight counties of Connacht and Ulster.
McConalogue could however get a Junior Ministerial position in the days ahead.
