South Donegal Councillors want answers as to why the Chief Fire Officer of the County has recommended closing Ballyshannon Fire Station.

The issue is to be raised by Ballyshannon Councillor Barry O'Neill at a meeting of Donegal County Council in Lifford today.

Councillor O'Neill says he wants answers as to why a decision which does not form part of the recommendations in a recent independent report on the south Donegal Fire Service is being taken by the Chief Fire Officer Joe McTaggart.
