Cllr Taylor: 'With bank branches closing, now's time to reopen Gurteen PO'

A south Sligo councillor says that with Bank of Ireland closing its branches in Ballymote and Tubbercurry, now is the time to reopen the post office in Gurteen.

In making its announcement yesterday about the branch closures, Bank of Ireland said banking services would be available in nearby post offices.

Cllr Paul Taylor says because of the situation that has now arisen in south Sligo, the reopening of Gurteen Post Office, which closed at the end of February 2019, should be looked at.
