Close to 30 people waiting for hospital beds in NW

27 people from across the North West are waiting on trolleys for hospital beds today at the 2 main regional hospitals.

Sligo University Hospital has 16 people without beds today with 11 in the emergency department and 5 patients on another wards.

Letterkenny University Hospital has 11 patients without beds today with 4 in ED and 7 patients waiting on other wards throughout the hospital.

There are 502 people nationwide waiting for a bed today with the worst effected hospital being Limerick University Hospital, with 57 patients
