A Coastal Watch Programme is to be launched by Donegal Gardaí to combat the threat of drugs in the area.
The plans for the programmme were confirmed at the latest sitting of the Donegal Joint Policing Committee by Chief Superintendent, Goretti Sheridan.
It was also confirmed that the programme will be led by Inspector Paul McGee.
The Coastal Watch Programme has been introduced following the seizure of almost €4m worth of cocaine on the Donegal coastline last July. Investigations into that seizure are still ongoing.
