A protest led by an alliance group took place yesterday outside the Coillte head offices in Wicklow in response to the forestry scandal.
Save Our Forests Save Our Lands is a group made up of 39 organisations nationwide, and they met in Newtown Mount Kennedy yesterday to make their feelings known about the controversial deal Coillte have struck with UK-based investment firm, Gresham House.
Gerry Loftus, leader of the Rural Irish Organisation and member of Save Our Forests Save Our Land, hailed the protest as a success:
