Sligo community activist Corey Whyte has confirmed his intention to contest the next local election as an independent candidate in the newly formed Sligo - Drumcliff electoral area.
The local elections are due to take place on Friday, May 24th.
Speaking to Ocean FM News, Mr Whyte says he possesses a number of qualities, which he thinks, sets him apart from other candidates in the field.
