Community groups are encouraged to register with An Taisce for the National Spring Clean.
The event kicks off for the month of April with over 500,000 volunteers taking part nationally in 2020.
Sligo Independent Councillor, Marie Casserly says there has been a noticeable increase in roadside litter in the region since the beginning of the pandemic.
Speaking to OceanFM News, Councillor Casserly says An Taisce have issued guidelines for helping out during the pandemic and is encouraging people to get involved.
