Community & voluntary sector workers have been forgotten by the government

Calls are being made for an equal pay and conditions for workers that provide state services but are are employed in the Community and voluntary sectors:

The current Local Area Representative for the Labour Party, Nessa Cosgrove tabled a motion at the Parties national conference over the weekend.

The former General Election candidate says there are many delivering essential Public services in areas as diverse as Education, Employment, Housing, Health, Social Care, Childhood and Youth services.

She says the State has abdicated its responsibility towards workers in the sector.
