A Sligo councillor has welcomed commitments by Sligo County council to review the issue of illegal car parking near the entrance to one of Sligo's fastest-growing tourist attractions.

Sinn Fein Councillor Chris Mac Manus says some motorists are continuing to park illegally on cycling lanes at the entrance to Knocknarea on the Strandhill Road.

He says the problem is causing an inconvenience to locals and is a danger to cyclists.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Cllr Mac Manus says all necessary steps should be taken to ensure visiting Strandhill is a pleasurable experience for everyone.
