Concern over condition of Sligo's regional routes

Serious concern has been raised over the current condition of some of Sligo's regional and smaller routes.

It's believed that there are many minor realignment works needed on a number of such roads with a series of bad bends the route between Ballygawley and Ballintogher highlighted as an area in need of particular attention.

The Transport Minister is being urged to establish a special ring-fenced for minor works on regional roads.

Local Cllr Thomas Healy says current budget constraints is preventing work being carried out and that the Government need to come up with a specific scheme:
