There's concern about the long wait that Leaving Cert students have to face before receiving their first round CAO offers.
A career guidance counsellor in Sligo is just one teacher who has raised concerns about the gap between when students get their results and when the first round offers come out.
Almost 3400 pupils in Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim received their results yesterday but won't get their first offers for a college place until Monday.
The results are issued through the State Examinations Board while the offers are made through the Central Applications Office (CAO).
Speaking to Ocean FM yesterday, Shane Kennedy, Career Guidance teacher in St. Mary's in Ballisodare said that the wait is questionable:
