Concern over loss of car parking facility in Sligo

There are fears that Sligo town will be left a serious disadvantage an expected loss in much needed car parking.

The Adelaide St Car Park lease will expire within the next 18 Months and is set to revert back to The Housing Agency.

Around 60 spaces are set to be lost and Sligo County Council say that they have no current plans to seek out a replacement car park.

Local Sinn Fein Cllr Arthur Gibbons says while its positive that the land will be used for housing, parking is a serious issue in Sligo and every effort must be made to find an alternative nearby:
