Concern raised over high levels of Covid-19 in Donegal

The Chief Medical Officer's warned that Covid-19 is circulating at dangerous levels in County Donegal.

The national incidence rate is 127.3 per 100,000, however in Donegal it is 293.4 per 100,000.

Dr Tony Holohan is appealing for community leaders in the county to encourage people to stick with the public health measures.

4 more people have died of Covid-19 and a further 545 new cases have been confirmed nationally according to the latest figures from the National Public Health Emergency Team.

Less than 5 cases were recorded in both Sligo and Leitrim with 29 in Co. Donegal.

The five day moving average in Sligo and Leitrim sits at 2 cases wile it's 40 for Donegal, the national figure is at 450.

Sligo remains below the national 14 day incidence rate of 127.3 while both Leitrim and Donegal are above it.
