Concerns expressed over water infrastructure from Carraroe to Ballisodare

Ongoing concerns over the water supply that runs from Carraroe to Ballisodare have resurfaced again this week.

It's understood that the water pipe infrastructure is an old cast iron watermains.

Over the last number of years a number of major leaks have been reported and his week alonethere have been a number of outages.

The supply covers Ballisodare, Collooney, Ballygawley and Ballintogher.

Local Councillor Thomas Healy says it's not acceptable to see water off for over 12 hours.

The Sinn Féin Councillor is calling on Irish Water to carry out a full investigation on the line that he says as it is not fit for purpose as this stage:
