Major concerns have been raised over the lack of helicopter support when it comes to fighting wild fires in Donegal.
The concerns have been raised by Donegal TD and Leas Cheann Comhairle, Pat the Cope Gallagher.
Deputy Gallagher says the delayed arrival of helicopter cover to combat recent fires in West Donegal was a major concern and he is anxious such a situation should not arise again as we enter into a time of year where wild fires are more frequent.
Deputy Gallagher has urged the general public to show more of a civic spirit when it comes to lighting such fires that have the ability to cause major damage and destruction.
