Consultation on plan for Sligo to Enniskillen greenway gets underway

A consultation on the plan for the greenway linking Sligo to Enniskillen via West Cavan is getting underway this week.

The plan aims to open up around 70km "world class" cycle path, following the old railway line through Letterbreen, Belcoo, Blacklion, Glenfarne, Manorhamilton, Dromahair, Ballintogher and Collooney.

The tourism initiative is led by Leitrim County Council as the county hosting the largest section of the route, which is arguably one of the most scenic routes in Ireland.

Councillor Thomas Walsh says it'll be a game changer for the region and that its imperative landowners and other members of the public have their say:
