Cosgrove calls for improved wages, better working conditions in voluntary, community sector

Low wages and poor working conditions are still major problems for the majority of workers in the voluntary and community sector.

That's according to former Sligo/Leitrim Labour Party candidate Nessa Cosgrove who works in the sector.

Her comments come in the aftermath of the announcement by Minister of State Joe O Brien of multi-annual funding for charities.

She says there are underlying problems in the sector that have gone unaddressed for too long.
