Sligo county councillors have agreed to call on Agriculture Minister and Donegal TD Charlie McConalogue to commit to building a new regional veterinary laboratory in Sligo.
They also want a timeframe for when this will happen.
The call was the result of a motion from Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy that was unanimously agreed by councillors at their meeting yesterday
Cllr Healy says a new, improved facility facility is needed.
