Councillor calls on Transport Minister to resolve NCT backlog

There's pressure on Transport Minister Eamon Ryan to sort out the backlog of NCT tests in Sligo and elsewhere.

Some motorists in the county are said to be waiting up to six months for a test, leading to concern over how valid their insurance will be in the interim.

Fianna Fail Cllr Paul Taylor believes that more mechanics need to be employed.

He's calling on the Minister to put the wheels in motion and get a recruitment campaign up and running as quickly as possible:
