A local councillor claims Sligo University Hospital is the only hospital in the country that has been denied the building of a new Emergency Department.
Sinn Fein Councillor, Thomas Healy says the upcoming modular building is being utilised only in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He says something more long-term is needed.
Latest figures show there are 99 vacant nurse and midwifery positions in the hospital.

Councillor Healy says the building of a new Emergecny Department would be a similar price to the temporary modular unit.
