Councils confident of supplies as cold spell set to continue

The County Councils in Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim say they have enough salt and grit supplies to deal with a prolonged cold spell.

The three Councils say that their winter maintenance plans were confirmed earlier this month and they are confident they have enough grit to deal with a longer spell of the current freezing temperatures.

It comes as Met Eireann confirms that this weather is set to continue.

Liz Walsh, forecaster with Met Eireann told Ocean FM News today that the cold spell that started early last week will continue:
