Counting for the Sligo-Strandhill electoral area is underway at Summerhill College in Sligo.
11 candidates are vying for 6 seats.
Counting began at 10am on Sunday morning with the first count expected around lunchtime.
It's expected that Sligo's longest-serving councillor Independent Socialist Declan Bree will top the poll and be elected on the first count on Sunday.

Fianna Fáil's Rosaleen O'Grady and Tom MacSharry are also polling well.
Counting for the Ballymote-Tubbercurry electoral area resumes at 11am.
