Counting resumes in Donegal

Counting in the Donegal constituency resumed on Sunday morning in the Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny.

Two of the five seats have been filled.

Sinn Féin's Pearse Doherty and Pádraig Mac Lochlainn have been re-elected.

Deputy Doherty was elected after the first count and Deputy Mac Lochlainn after the second count.

Pat 'The Cope' Gallagher (FF) looks regain the seat he lost in 2020 while the final three places will be fought between Charlie McConalogue (FF), Thomas Pringle (IND) and Charles Ward (100R).

Nationally, just 41 of the 174 seats had been filled at the start of play on Sunday – with only six constituencies having completed their counts on Saturday night.
