Counting for the Ballymote-Tubbercurry and Sligo-Strandhill electoral areas of Sligo County Council is underway at The Sligo Park Hotel.
15 candidates are vying for one of seven seats in Ballymote-Tubbercurry while 14 candidates must be whittled down to 6 in Sligo-Strandhill.
Tallying began at 9am this morning.
Tally figures show that Sligo’s longest-serving councillor, Independent Socialist Declan Bree, is set to top the poll in Sligo-Strandhill.
Bree’s first preference total is 1,501 votes which would see him elected on the first count.
Fianna Fáil candidate Paul Taylor, meanwhile looks set to top the poll in Ballymote-Tubbercurry.
Taylor, who was first elected in 2014 tallied first preference total is 1,908 votes.
