A funding boost has been announced to the sum of €135,000 for local communities in Sligo and Leitrim
The funding will help communities to socialise, exercise, work and shop safely during the current pandemic.
Communities that will benefit from the €90,000 funding announced for Sligo include Rathcormack, Coney Island and Bunnanadden, while Glenfarne and Tullaghan are among the successful recipients in Leitrim.
Rathcormac receives €40,000 to enhance safety and accessibility while Coney Island and Bunnaddena will be provided with €25,000 each.
Meanwhile in Leitrim, the community in Tullaghan will receive an allocation of €21,600.
Glenfarne has been allocated €11,341,
Local TD and Minister for State Frank Feighan says the funding will help the towns continue to trade and provide community service during the Covid pandemic.
