The ESB has confirmed that they are working to restore power as quickly as possible to all customers in the North West following a significant outage this morning.
Sligo County Council has confirmed that all traffic lights in Sligo town are currently out of order as a result of the outage. Motorists are asked to proceed with extreme caution and care.
Vast areas of Sligo and Leitrim were affected due to what the ESB has confirmed as a major outage at its sub station in Sligo.
The line from Collooney to Manorhamilton has been worst affected.
At point, over 30 thousand homes and businesses were impacted however power is gradually being restored to most areas.
A large area of Manorhamilton is still without power however it is expected to be restored shortly.
