Current Government payments not in keeping with inflation - Harkin

Current Government payments are not in keeping with inflation.

That's according to Sligo Leitrim Independent TD Marian Harkin who was speaking in the Dail as part of statements on a motion on high energy costs.

Deputy Harkin says many are making hard choices between food and fuel and living in fear of the next bill coming through the door.

She says things are getting worse and what's currently on offer is simply not enough to help people through the crisis:
