The Dail has heard a child with disabilities in Drumshanbo is in limbo as to whether they will have a special needs assistant this coming September.

St. Patricks National School currently has 1.83 special needs assistants who are already working with three other children.

The boys family now have to apply for a special exemption review for an additional SNA for the school.

The issue was raised during statements on special educational needs by Sligo Leitrim Sinn Fein TD Martin Kenny.
