Daniel O’Donnell joins tributes to late Kris Kristofferson

Donegal singer Daniel O’Donnell has joined the tributes to the late country music star, Kris Kristofferson.

 

He died at the age of 88.

A family spokesperson for the musician - who also acted in the film A Star Is Born - said he passed away peacefully at his home in Hawaii on Saturday.

 

In a statement on social media, Daniel O’Donnell said he was saddened to hear of his passing and that he was one of the greatest singer songwriters ever.

The Donegal singer also said he had the privilege of recording and singing a number of his songs over the years.

 

He's best known for writing songs such as Me and Bobby McGee and Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down.

 

No cause of death's been given but the singer had been suffering from memory loss since he was in his 70s.
