The Department of Housing has approved €1m in funding for Sligo County Council.
The allocation is part of the agreement between the Council and the Department under their financial plan.
As part of that the Council had to achieve a surplus to qualify to avail of this allocation which is paid through the Local Property Tax fund.
Fine Gael TD in Sligo Leitrim Tony McLoughlin has confirmed that Minister Simon Coveney has confirmed the allocation to the Council this week:
