Independent Donegal TD, Thomas Pringle, says the people have voted for a left wing government.
Deputy Pringle made the comments last night at the Donegal constituency count after retaining his seat on the 9th count with a total vote of 12,245.
He says historically it has always been Fianna Fail or Fine Gael and that has now changed for the first time.
Speaking to OceanFM, Deputy Pringle believes a different government will favour those who are most in need.
