Donegal Sinn Fein Deputy Pearse Doherty says he does not see a realistic chance of his party going into government with Fianna Fail or Fine Gael unless their policies drastically change.
He was speaking after reports that Sinn Fein was preparing to enter coalition talks with Leo Varadkar or Micheal Martin after the next election.
Both Fine Gael and Fianna Fail have said they will not go into government with Sinn Fein.
More than 2,000 Sinn Fein members gather in Derry this weekend for the party's 2019 ard fheis, at which they will debate 166 motions and set out policy for the year ahead.
Speaking to Ocean FM News, Deputy Doherty says a motion before the ard fheis would allow Sinn Fein have discussions with ANY party or independent about formulating a programme for future government.
