Doherty says new insurance fraud office long overdue

A Donegal TD is welcoming the news that a new Garda Insurance Fraud Coordination Office is to be established.

Sinn Féin spokesperson on Finance Pearse Doherty says the office will allow policyholders who suspect a fraudulent claim has been made against them to report this directly to the Gardaí instead of relying on the insurer to report it.

Deputy Doherty said fraudulent claims are a serious issue, with reform long overdue.
