The new Cathaoirleach of the Donegal Municipal District says lessons have to be learned from the recent RTE Investigates Programme on illegal dumping.
Fianna Fail Councillor Mícheal Naughton says he has every confidence that the environment section is taking the adequate steps to deal with the issues highlighted in Donegal.
Most of the more serious offences were in the north of the county.
However, Councillor Naughton says when Donegal makes the national headlines it has an impact on the whole county:
