The highest speeding offence recorded over St Patrick’s Bank Holiday weekend took place in Donegal.
An extensive Garda Roads Policing Operation was in place between 7am Thursday March 13th, and 7am Tuesday March 18th.
During it, a driver was recorded going 184km/hr in a 100km/hr zone on the N15 in Tully, Co Donegal.
In total, over 2,650 drivers were detected for speeding offences, while separately 214 were arrested for driving under the influence of an intoxicant.
Over those days, 425 vehicles were seized for having no tax or insurance.
