It's emerged that several sheep farmers in Donegal are set to benefit from payments under the National Sheep Welfare Scheme.
A €2 million pot is to be shared by almost 3,000 farmers across the county.
The Scheme is aimed at assisting farmers to produce better quality animals and implement practical animal welfare measures on their farms.
Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue says the payments are crucial to the sheep sector and farm families in Donegal.
