The manager of Donegal mart is warning marts throughout the country will be forced to close due to high insurance costs.
Emer McGuinness says their insurance premium has doubled in the last three years from €6,500 in 2015 to €13,500 in 2018.
This is despite the fact that no accidents took place on the premises in this period.
Ms McGuinness says she has sent out a questionnaire to every mart in the country to find out if accidents are increasing and leading to higher premiums.
