The Milford Fire Department and Donegal County Council were also tasked to the scene who managed to get the road gritted so all services could access the car.

The four people were subsequently transported to Dunfanaghy.

The team were stood down at 23:30.

In a statement, Donegal Mountain Rescue are reminding all road users to be vigilant as the dip in temperature has resulted in widespread frost and ice.
