The call outs related to the welfare of individuals and were in the North and South of the county.

On Wednesday morning of last week, the team were tasked at around 10.50am by An Garda Siochana in Buncrana to assist in locating a missing person.

The team assembled at Buncrana pier and had begun ground searches when the individual was found. The team stood down shortly after 6pm.

Then, Friday evening last, the team were alerted to the fact that a male was late returning to his vehicle in the Bluestacks. Garda then reported that they had made contact with the male and there was no concern for his safety. The team were subsequently stood down.

In a statement, Donegal Mountain Rescue reminded people that the nights are closing in to keep this mind going forward.

If you are heading out, pack warm clothing and a torch/head light. Always be sure to let someone know where you are going, how long for and, if possible, let those people know if you have been held up.
