The Donegal Mountain Rescue Team were tasked to a callout on Saturday afternoon to assist a walker who was injured on Errigal Mountain.
The callout lasted around 5 hours.
The team were first tasked at 1.55pm on Saturday afternoon, after being alerted to a casualty who had fallen and sustained head injuries.
The Rescue 118 helicopter was tasked from Sligo, but despite several attempts to assist the casualty amid deteriorating weather conditions, the helicopter had no option but to return to base.
The team secured the casualty, who was deemed stable but in need of urgent care and getting very cold, and after securing her to the stretcher and wrapping her in warm layers, began the descent of Errigal.
The casualty was then transferred to the ambulance team who were waiting for her at the bottom, and was taken to hospital.
The team were eventually stood down at 6.55pm that evening.
