The Donegal Road Safety Working Group is calling on all road users to stay safe on the roads this Bank Holiday weekend.

They are one of a number of organisations to issue a warning including the Gardai and the Road Safety Authority ahead of the busy Bank Holiday weekend.

To date this year, 74 people have been killed on Irish roads, an increase of 15 on the same period last year.

The latest report released by the Road Safety Authority also reveals that between 2008 and 2012, alcohol was a contributory factor in 38% of all fatal collisions.
