Donegal surf school operator says beaches need to be managed to deal with today's requirements

A County Donegal surf school operator says there is an urgent need for the proper management of our beaches and swimming areas.

Killian O Kelly, who runs Irish Gap Year and previously ran Turf and Surf School in Bundoran for 14 years, was speaking following reports that the Coast Guard responded to 18 jet-ski incidents in April and May, 12 of which related to complaints about them encroaching into swimming areas.

There have been complaints in the past about the use of jet-skis in waters along the north west coast.

Killian O Kelly says it's a much wider issue.
