Donegal TD accuses the government of not being fully briefed in relation to mica redress legislation

The Taoiseach is warning that committing to pre-legislative scrutiny of the upcoming enhanced Mica Redress Scheme will delay the roll out significantly.

 

The call to scrutinise the legislation was made in the Dáil by Independent TD for Donegal Deputy Thomas Pringle.

Deputy Pringle also accused some Government Ministers of not being fully up to speed with the scheme.

 

It's after Tánaiste Leo Varadkar admitted he wasn't aware that reconstruction was to take place on existing foundations on Mica affected homes during his visit to Donegal last week:

Responding Michael Martin says we need to get Mica affected homes rebuilt and he would not be in favour of any further delay to that process:
