A Donegal TD is warning that patients attending Letterkenny University Hospital will continue to endure long waiting list unless the government seriously invest in the facility.
Independent TD Thomas Pringle was reacting to a recent study conducted by the Irish Patients' Association which that found Letterkenny University Hospital to have the worst rating in the Country when it comes to the average waiting time to see a consultant.
The survey has found that the average waiting time is 11.7 months in Letterkenny. The highest average waiting time in the entire country.
Deputy Pringle says despite Letterkenny being one of the busiest hospitals in the County there are many problems in attracting and retaining consultants:
