Donegal TD says he had to vote against the redress scheme

A Donegal TD say he had no choice but to vote against the Defective Block redress scheme in the Dáil last night.

The Government lost its Dáil majority as a result of the actions taken by Deputy Joe McHugh who surrendered the party whip after have voted against the government on the redress scheme.

The Government has no technical majority, however it believes with support from the Deputy McHugh, two suspended Green Party TDs and some Independents it can still exercise a working majority and continue to function.

Speaking to Ocean FM new Joe McHugh says it was a difficult decision however it was one he had to take:
