The Health Minister says we need to do everything we can to avoid another lockdown.
Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal will move to level 4 from midnight, meaning all non-essential retail will close.
The rest of the country will remain on level three, but with additional restrictions coming into effect.
Household visits are banned, while only 6 people from two households can meet outdoors.
Minister Stephen Donnelly is urging people to adhere to the restrictions.
